O Allah, let us live to witness Ramadan

It is reported that some of the early generations of Muslims (Salaf) used to supplicate to Allah for six months that He prolongs their life to witness Ramadan. When it ends, they supplicate for the next six months that He accepts their Ramadan (fasting and prayers).
