Qur’an and Fasting

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The fast and the Qur’an are two intercessors for the slave of Allah on the Day of Resurrection. The fast will say: ‘O My Lord, I have prevented him from his food and desires during the day, so let me intercede for him.’ The Qur’an will say: ‘I have prevented him from sleeping at night, so let me intercede for him.’ He said: ‘Their intercession will be accepted’.” (Ahmad)
